Columbus. Who was this guy, anyway?
. . . And did he really "discover" America?
. . . And did he really "discover" America?
Christopher Columbus was an explorer who sailed from Spain--his trip financed by Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand. He made a total of four trips across the Atlantic Ocean, in 1492, 1493, 1498, and 1502, determined to find a water route from Europe to the riches of Asia. Well, that never happened; instead, he bumped into the Americas (Notice I didn't say "discovered"). The rest is, as they say, history. For lots more information, check THIS out.

Writing a scary/mystery story is one of the most exciting ways to improve writing skills. Think about it--it's the kind of fiction you love; the characters are like you, the plot has lots of puzzles to solve, and ooh, the suspense! Well, it's just hard to put down!
Here's everything you'll need:

Wednesday: Get ready to be amazed! We're going to watch this Prezi about how Mesopotamian Science and Discoveries changed the world. We'll take notes and everything -- Yee-hah!
PROJECT: Time to ask the public! You get to interview 4 people (see information and question worksheets I've provided) and gather information about what they think the best (and worst) inventions are.
